Salakphet Village: situated in the south of the island. It belongs Ao Yai and is surrounded by mountain ridge. Sometimes, Ao Salakphet became the sanctuary for fishermen when the weather is capricious as there are islands at the front.

Now days the residence is increasing in number especially the home stay accommodation. There is no beach for swimming but the sunrise viewpoint is very admiring. Furthermore you can visit other is lands by boat e.g. Koh Laoya, Koh Wai, Koh Mai Si, etc. For adventure lovers trekking at Khao Salakphet the highest peak on Koh Chang is very exciting but you should contact an officer of the Royal Forest Department for safety. Or roaming the highest waterfall, Klong Nueng Waterfall and Khiri Phetch Waterfall.

The highest peak is Salakphet (744 Meters above sea level). The second is Chomprasat and the third is Khao Hom. All these mountains are the headwater of many rivers that flow through the village and of waterfalls. From this reason roaming the waterways is added to many travel programs on Koh Chang.
